March 22, 2025 I like automata. I like automata acting like people; I like people acting like automata. I like pushing myself to a place where charming looks into the abyss and meets an uncanny valley. I want to show how depression lies to me, robs me of energy, yet informs my work. How do I do this without burdening and depressing the ones I tell? I want to tell them that even in the nadir, there is humor there too if one looks for it. I like to put funny little notes and toys in my pockets so that I have something sweet to remember everywhere I go.

March 21, 2025 I have had the privilege of watching my favorite graphic designer (my hubby, Bob Hullinger) make a custom designed poster for the first Fun&Games show featuring caricatures of all the performers in a style reminiscent of my favorite 60s and 70s toy packaging and children’s book illustrations. This show is going to be all the better thanks to this gorgeous art. If you live in Evanston, IL, you may be seeing these posters all over town soon. My very biggest thanks to Bob!

March 20, 2025 After several years of searching for talented hearts and minds who also happen to like greasy kid’s stuff, the Fun & Games Guild established itself in 2025! Our aim is to grow exponentially with each new show, adding performers, visual artists, designers, builders/makers, filmmakers, a responsive and curious audience, and more! Our FREE debut show, entitled Fun & Games, takes place on April 27th, 2025. Promotional materials will be launched into the world this week thanks to graphic designer Robert Hullinger. Our new logo, reminiscent of vintage toy package design and children’s book illustrations, is as playful as we will be at our shows. Posters will be seen about town at local shops in Evanston, IL, postcards will be mailed out to friends, and limited edition prints will be given to donors who participated in the 3Arts matching grant crowdfund campaign at the $250+ level. We plan to print a few more posters to sell at our debut show. This will be confirmed soon. For now, check out this great logo, and stay tuned for a first peek at the poster!
